GATE CS 2026 Score 476 (Gen) – No Offer till COAP Round 4, Any Realistic Chances Left?
Hi everyone,
I am a General category candidate with GATE CS 2026 score 476 and no COAP offers till Round 4.
My profile:
- B.Tech CSE, CGPA 9.3
- GATE CS 2026 Score: 476
- Software Engineer with industry experience
- Multiple MS Research interview calls
Current status:
Rejected / Not Selected:
- IIT Bombay MSR (CS, DSAI, Digital Health)
- IIT Delhi MSR (CSE, SIT, SICPSE, Bharti School)
- IIT Kanpur MSR (IS, CGS, Cyber Security)
- IIT Hyderabad (NIS, CSE)
- IIT Madras (CS, DSAI, MST, Applied Mechanics)
Pending:
- IIT Guwahati MS(R) Energy Science & Engineering (Interview completed)
- IIT Madras MS(R) Computational Engineering (Interview completed on 14 May, no result yet)
Pending COAP Programs:
- IIT Bombay: ET, TD, CMS, GNR, EE1, EE2, IO
- IIT Kharagpur: Industrial Engineering, Reliability, Manufacturing, AI, CSE
- IIT Roorkee: Mathematics & Scientific Computing, Data Science
- IIT Jodhpur: Data & Computational Sciences, CPS
- IIT Indore: MTech(R) CSE
- IIT Guwahati: Robotics & AI, Data Science
I am no longer expecting core CSE/AI programs. At this point, I would be happy with any IIT seat in a reasonable interdisciplinary program.
For people who have gone through COAP/MS Research admissions:
- Are Round 5–7 usually where interdisciplinary programs move significantly?
- Has anyone with a similar score (~450–500) received offers in later rounds?
- Which of my remaining options look realistic?
Any honest opinions would be appreciated.
