Gate agent checked my ID because my name is commonly the opposite gender

I am a cis gender woman with a male name. Today I was boarding my flight and the gate agent could not believe that a woman would have this name and she needed to see my ID. She even asked me if that is a name for a woman. I have flown countless times and never had a gate agent do this. I was fumbling around trying to get my ID out since it was packed away and she apologized profusely. Is this normal? Should I report this to costumer service or is there no point?
