Anyone else buying Southwest cars just to avoid NY rust?
I finally gave up on the local used car market and bought a car out of an Arizona auction. My friends thought I was insane for paying to ship a car 2,000+ miles to New York.
And after spending weeks crawling under local cars and seeing rust on stuff that wasn't even that old, the Arizona car ended up making way more sense. When it arrived from Copart lot, the underside looked better than most of the cars I had been looking at around NYC.
I'm not saying shipping a car across the country is always the answer, but after seeing what Northeast winters do to vehicles, I kind of get why people hunt for Southwest inventory.
Anybody else gone this route, or am I just coping because I paid to move a car halfway across the country?
