I am having a crisis and I want some advice on where I’m standing in life from strangers

Findapath-Mindset Adjustment

So, first of all, some background about me. I graduated two years ago, searched for a job for a year (job market is bad in Germany where I’m living right now), and now I'm working full time for one year more or less. I'm working in a pretty demanding field (management consulting). On average, I would say I work 60 hours a week, but from home, so I save time commuting.

I don't enjoy the job intrinsically. I'm driven by the goal to achieve financial freedom as soon as possible. I value freedom a lot, and I don't want to be part of the rat race forever, even if that means giving up some freedom temporarily.

That being said, I live in the same house as my parents to save rent. I live on the countryside, not where I studied, so I have little social contacts outside of work. My friends are spread out over different countries after graduation.

My biggest struggle, I would say, is that I perceive a strong lack of energy after work. I usually just crash. I gave up on going to the gym since a few months before starting full-time work. I used to go five times a week and was pretty much into bodybuilding. Since working, I also lost more than 20 kg of weight, since I eat less (building up muscle was my motivation to eat enough to gain weight).

When I have free time and don't recover, I usually just play computer games. It's a low-effort activity that gives a lot of dopamine, and the barrier to start is fairly low compared to going to the gym. It also helps shutting off my brain.

Another thing is that I have an ADHD diagnosis, which might make things worse. I'm medicated for one and a half years. The struggles finding a job and motivating myself to apply ultimately led to the diagnosis.

I know all of this doesn't sound too healthy, but I don't know what change I should make. Life feels quite stuck right now, and I'm generally curious how people balance work and have a fulfilling life next to it. I wonder if that's even possible in the field I'm working in.
