Need advice from successful club founders

Im in grade 10 and need advice, especially with the process of getting a teacher supervisor:

when did you ask the teacher? after school ended? before classes?

how did you ask the teacher? Email, in-person, or both?

if you asked the teacher in-person: did you have a club proposal document to give to them or was it just you speaking?

How well did you know this teacher?

did the teacher’s area have to do with the club? (for example a science teacher supervising an astrology club)

Did your offer ever get rejected? if so, why?

and lastly, a general question: at my school, official club creations open up in September next year. Do you think I should wait until then to ask the teacher to supervise my club?
