Would anyone like to see a legit Prom Night remake?

It was "remade" in 2008 to disastrous results. I really like the original but it feels like a movie with room for improvement that a remake could tackle (the 2008 version didn't even try).
The entire escaped killer sub plot needs to go, that was a waste of time in the original and just too up screen time.
None of the characters seem to acknowledge the opening death at all. During the movie, no one seems to be bothered or care that they accidentally caused a death, it doesn't seem to come up. Nick seems to be the only one that shows any kind of remorse to it. Not only that but one of the girls seems to now bully the older sister to the girl she killed.
I feel there is definitely room to improve it, although if it did get a proper remake I fear everyone would call it an I Know What You Did Last Summer rip off.
