Induction hob -> Oven Spur
Hi all,
I need some advice before I pay someone to do the work.
I had an old gas hob that was on its last legs, so I paid someone (yes, Gas Safe registered, etc., before you ask) to cap the gas pipe and remove the old hob. It was previously plugged into a socket.
I’d like to install a new induction hob, but I’m unsure whether I should go for one that plugs directly into a standard socket (lower wattage induction), or connect it to the oven spur (higher wattage/better performance induction).
The oven spur is currently wired to a 32A breaker, and the oven is a Hotpoint DU2 540 IX. From Googling around, it's 0.96 kWh.
Can I have someone wire the induction hob to the existing oven spur, or should I have a new circuit installed?
Thank you.
