No Wifi Connections found

We had an issue with our modem dropping yesterday, all devices were affected. We restarted the modem a few times and everything was reconnected except our PC.

It’s saying it cannot find any networks. I’ve been trying basic troubleshooting, but I cannot open the “change adapter settings”.

We tried to install a dongle wireless adapter we had, but that wouldn’t work either, the light never came on the adapter. We tried all the USB ports.

I need this PC for work, frankly, I know I should know more, but dammit Jim, I’m an artist not an IT professional. I’m debating buying a 250 foot ethernet cord to run to the modem, but I’m afraid it wont work either.
