Thinking of starting a premium bus service in Dhaka
I’ve been thinking about a transport idea in Dhaka and wanted honest opinions from people who actually commute daily.
We all know how difficult daily travel is here 😭
overcrowded buses
extreme heat / poor or fake AC
unpredictable timing
lack of safety and comfort
general chaos during peak hours
So the idea is a premium city bus service — not private car luxury, but a proper upgraded public transport option.
🚍 Features would include:
❄️ Strong, reliable AC (properly maintained)
📍 Live bus tracking (so you know exactly where the bus is)
🪑 Guaranteed seat (no standing, no overcrowding)
🧼 Clean and well-maintained buses
🛡️ CCTV monitoring + basic security presence
👩 Women safety focus (safer seating arrangement / monitored environment / priority seating)
⏱ Fixed schedule with fewer random delays
🧑✈️ Professional drivers and controlled stops (not random pickup chaos)
💰 Pricing idea:
Normal bus: 40–60 BDT
Premium service: 100–180 BDT
🤔 Main question:
Do you think people in Dhaka would actually pay 2x–3x more for this kind of service?
Or would most people still prefer rickshaws / CNG / ride apps instead?
Also curious:
What would make YOU switch from your current transport option?
Is the pricing realistic or still too high for daily use?
What important features am I missing that would actually make this work?
Would students use this regularly or only occasionally (exam days, weather, etc.)?
How important is women safety vs price in real decision making?
Any Honestly Feedback plssss🙏
