Teaching Jobs
I am trying to move back to Long Island due to some changes in my personal life so I can be with family.
I have 9 years of teaching experience, 8 of those are in the suburbs in Virginia (think Nassau County of D.C).
I've applied to 36 jobs, only heard from 6 and had 2 demos which I couldn't get passed. I am certified in NYS and have the professional license with Masters.
My two questions are
-
Does it hurt me that my experience is out of State as opposed to teaching in the city?
-
Could me having 9 years of experience hurt at a point because if they accept my experience I cost more as opposed to a teacher who has a few leave replacements and they can pay a starting salary?
Any information is helpful.
