is the movie any good for someone who doesnt know the lore behind it?

im planning on watching it but tiktok gave me mixed signals. some hate it while some love it. i know abt the backrooms but i dont really know the lore (or whatever it is u wanna called) abt it. would u recommend it to someone who doesn't know anything abt it?
