Are cats smart enough to drop their turds exactly in my new patch of grass to help fertilize it?

I removed a big rock from my backyard. I filled the hole with dirt, planted new grass, been watering it and waiting for new grass to grow. On the day that grass finally poked through the ground, I went outside to water it, excited that it had worked.

As I water it, the dirt "melts" around to reveal a (now wet) turd that could only be from the neighborhood cat who frequently comes into my backyard.

TLDR; a cat was smart enough to bless my backyard by dropping its fertilizing gift right where my lawn needed it most.
