Confused about angle advantage and peeking
Probably this Woohoojin video (timestamp) along with this one (also timestamp) have ruined me forever.
So you shouldn't be clearing angles/slicing the pie when you have angle disadvantage?
What about peeks like haven C long? Ascent B main? Don't people still try to get as far back as possible and clear the angles one by one anyway? But by going further back doesn't that put them into angle disadvantage while at the same time sacrificing peek speed (because they could instead peek as close to the wall as possible and peek faster)?
I've seen other coaches like Konpeki talk about angle disadvantage (timestamp)
In that video, he does the C long peek, but shouldn't it be closer to the wall like Woohoojin says to appear faster on the enemy's screen? Or do the thing where players go as far back as possible? But why do people even do that?
He then proposes a drill at 9:23 where you clear angles with a huge angle disadvantage so I'm just puzzled
Ever since watching those Woohoojin videos 3 years ago I just get close to a wall and wide-swing when I have angle disadvantage and want to peek.
Reached ascendant 3 so that probably works well enough, but I still don't get it.
Can someone explain this to me?
