Decision fatigue: 6-month PG Certificate vs 2-year Executive M.Tech. Which has more industry weight?
Hey people, I have around 2.5 years of experience working as a data analyst and I want to finalize an IIT partnership program this month to get a solid brand name on my CV.
When checking the options, I am experiencing massive decision fatigue because of the different tracks. On one side, there are proper long-term Executive M.Tech degrees in Generative AI, and on the other side, there are short 6-month specialized PG Certificates in things like Cloud AIOps or Forward Deployed AI Engineering.
The fee structure and time commitment are completely poles apart, so I want to know the ground reality from alumni:
During corporate resume shortlisting, do HRs treat an Executive M.Tech with the same respect as a regular degree, or is it looked down upon because it is an executive online track?
If the main goal is just a quick technical skill upgrade and an immediate salary hike, is it smarter to save money and just do the 6-month specialized certificate from IIT Roorkee or IIT Madras?
How much does the specific IIT partner name matter when you sit for the placement reference drives managed by Futurense?
Any blunt feedback will be highly appreciated.
