does anyone else have horrible medical anxiety or am I just crazy

autistic adult

When I was younger medical stuff didn't bother me NEARLY as much as it does now. I'm not exactly sure what changed. But a prime example of this happened to me last night that I need to share.

I was scrolling reels a bit on the couch before bed and a video of a person having a seizure came up. All the sudden I get a wave of nausea that makes me feel like I'm going to pass out. I started feeling anxious and had to lay down. Weird thing is, I don't think much when this happens, I'm not overthinking or anything. It's like my body just takes control and I have no say in it.

I know that sounds absolutely silly, but this is honestly a frequent occurrence that has actually made navigating my health issues a lot more challenging.

Another prime example of this is that I had a massive gnarly nosebleed over the winter. I started freaking out the same way with the seizure video except at one point I did actually pass out. My partner had to call emts and I felt so ridiculous afterwards. I had winter nosebleeds all the time as a kid and it never bothered me.

My doctor's appointments that normally should only take like 10 minutes now last an hour because I nearly pass out anytime they take my blood.

Is this something I can work through? Because I hate it so much. I feel like I make medical situations so much more stressful than they need to be.
