How to remove Blur thumbstud?

Hey All - I've got a new Blur that is tearing up my weak white-collar thumb. I ground down the serrations a bit and now the stud may be a little too slick. I understand the studs are press-fit. Any one have any tips on how to remove the studs? I want to reverse mine to use the unground side or maybe even install a different one with a fat o-ring.
