Building a "Smart" DIY Peltier cooler & rooting my Narzo 70 Turbo. How much performance can I actually unlock?
Hey guys,
I’m planning a fun DIY project to completely kill thermal throttling on my Realme Narzo 70 Turbo (Dimensity 7300 Energy). I push the phone pretty hard in BGMI, and the frame drops when the chassis gets warm are driving me crazy.
Here is the plan:
The Hardware: I’m building a custom Peltier cooler. To avoid the classic "condensation killed my motherboard" disaster, I'm making it smart. I’m hooking a 5V Peltier up to an Arduino Nano and a temp sensor. The Arduino will use PWM to throttle the cooling power, keeping the cold plate hovering safely just above the room's dew point.
The Software: A massive cooler is useless if the OS still thinks it needs to throttle. So, I plan to root the phone to completely nuke the stock thermal daemons. I want to let the Dimensity chip run at absolute max clocks indefinitely while the Arduino rig eats the heat.
Before I start buying parts and voiding warranties, I’d love your input:
The Performance: Has anyone bypassed thermals on these newer Dimensity chips? How much of a sustained FPS boost am I realistically going to see in heavy games? Does it scale well, or will I just hit a hard voltage wall?
Rooting: What’s the safest way to disable the thermal engine on Realme UI 5.0 without breaking standard battery charging safety? Any specific Magisk modules?
Materials: Any recommendations for a super-soft silicone thermal pad to get a perfect, airtight seal against the phone's back glass?
Would love to hear your thoughts, warnings, or tips before I start. I’ll definitely post a build log and thermal charts once it's put together!
