In case you’re considering renting a camper van in Mallorca…

Do NOT do it! This was the worst decision we could have made for our trip. There’s nothing romantic or adventurous about it. It’s was a total shit show and virtually ruined our vacation.
Why?
There is literally NO PLACE TO PARK anywhere in the towns. The first night we drove around for three hours looking for a place to park and by the time we found something it was a 10 minute walk from the town and all the restaurants were closed. We ate gummy bears for dinner that night.

These things are monsters and not made for the narrow, steep and curvy roads here. Many places are just plain inaccessible. Ours kept dying every few minutes.

We ended up getting a couple hotels anyway but they were in areas we didn’t want to be in bc of the parking situation in the nicer towns or smaller villages. Had to resort to junky tourist towns, might as well been in Destin, FL.

I didn’t get to visit any of the places I wanted to see in Mallorca: no small villages, no mountains, no crystal clear blue waters in a secluded cove - nothing.

It was a complete nightmare and it was time I’ll never get back.

After we turned the fucking thing in a day early, we ended up renting some bikes in Palma, grabbing some paella and riding all around the city into old town and that was the best part of the whole trip.
