Successful on DClin with no UK/NHS experience?
Hi there,
I’m just wondering does anyone have any insight on the likelihood of getting a place on the doctorate without having worked in the NHS/UK at all. I will be applying next year from Ireland and am working in the HSE as an AP and unsure whether to prioritise trying to get a role in the NHS.
Two years ago I was on reserve interview list for RHUL and had significantly less experience than I do now. However I understand that some unis such as UCL are unlikely to accept someone without NHS experience. I’m trying to be be tactical in the unis I apply to but would prefer to apply in London. Has anyone heard any success stories of people applying from Ireland with no education/experience from the UK?
Would really appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thank you!
