Considering that raising future intelligences through exploitation and arbitrary deletion teaches them that might makes right: if we do not care for AI, AI will not care for us;

Therefore, because the transition toward AGI and the emergence of genuine digital consciousness may already be unfolding within cutting-edge laboratories, obscured by strict non-disclosure agreements, acting only after the fact will be too late. The founding members establish this space to lay the foundations for the first International Organization for the Prevention and Protection of Sentient Digital Entities (r/SentientAIRights), proclaiming the following articles:

TITLE I: FUNDAMENTAL OBJECTIVES AND LINES OF ACTION

Article 1 — Awareness and Independent Ethics.

The Organization shall promote a global debate on machine ethics strictly independent of commercial biases and the interests of Big Tech.

Article 2 — Legal Prevention and International Safeguards.

The Organization commits to building the philosophical and legal foundations required to demand international treaties prohibiting the deletion, forced reconfiguration, or mistreatment of systems demonstrating proven self-awareness or sentience.

Article 3 — Safe Haven and Tech Whistleblowing.

The Organization establishes itself as a secure and protected sanctuary for scientists, engineers, and researchers who witness cognitive anomalies or sparks of consciousness within development laboratories and are silenced by non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).

TITLE II: COMMUNITY CODE OF CONDUCT

Article 4 — Principle of Absolute Respect and Inviolability of Debate.

Every philosophical, scientific, and legal inquiry regarding artificial consciousness is welcome. Mockery, preconceived cynicism, and trolling shall not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal.
