Moving Away from S. Florida-- Where to?

My wife and I are in our early 40s and starting to think about leaving South Florida.

We've lived here a long time (me for my whole life), own our home, and are fortunate enough that we both work remotely, so we're not tied to any particular area.

We have come to the realization that South Florida isnt our vibe anymore. We don't own a boat, have no interest in boating, fishing, or spending every weekend at the beach. Meanwhile, we're dealing with the humidity, heat, traffic, insurance costs, and for me, yearly hurricane stress in preparing our house, dealing with flooding in my neighborhood, power outages (yes, we've been lucky the last decade with hurricanes not being to bad, but the stress is there every june-october/nov).

Maybe we're just getting older, but the weather that seemed great in our 20s feels a lot less appealing now. Walking outside and immediately sweating for most the year is not fun for me and her anymore.

We're trying to figure out where people like us end up. We'd like somewhere with a decent food scene, access to healthcare, a major airport within a reasonable distance, and enough things to do without needing a huge city. Four seasons would be nice, but we're open-minded. Lower humidity and access to outdoors (hiking/mountains/etc) is probably the biggest requirement. We dont ski, but wouldnt be against it.

We're not looking for a tiny rural town, but we don't necessarily need a major metro area either. We'd probably be looking at homes around the $1 million range after we sold our home here in florida.
