Hail Damage, hypothetically

Imagine in a made up world you have a 2018 kia forte, you owe 2k on, yesterday gets pummeled in a hail storm, you have compressive coverage, would you contact insurance it its maybe 5-11 small dents from the hail and have them possibly total out the car? Or just not claim anything and risk rates going up?
