Centrelink Parenting Payments - Wanting advice to potentially be a SAHM

Advice Wanted

I’m(25F) about to finish up my work maternity leave and PPL with my one year old. My husband earns $1350 before tax per fortnight. I would love to be a stay at home mum for a bit longer and am thinking of quitting my job ($100k) to do so and happy pause my career for a couple years, so once my PPL runs out I am looking to resign.

We’ve been managing on my half pay and the PPL pay well for nearly a year now and making it work, no mortgage and cheap rent. I think my husbands income is low enough that we could qualify for the parenting payments.

Has anyone been in a similar situation to utilise the parenting payments/FTB/Rental Assistance to make things work for a little while longer? Is it worth it?

And does Centrelink base parenting payments off your earning capacity if you chose to be unemployed to stay at home?
