The more you spend the more you pay? Is adaptive pricing a thing or am I missing something?

News & Info

So I had a pretty big purchase the other day about USD $800 and since then I felt like prices where generally higher. By chance I clicked on a link on a device that I wasn't logged into and the price was x5 lower.

I've checked multiple links and every time it's x4 - x6 higher when I'm logged in than when I'm logged out. I've seen other posts about higher prices for "saved" items and other shenanigans that they might do, but this just seems like a rip off at this point.

I know they charge a premium once they know you have spending power but this is not a small difference in price - these prices are not even remotely close.

* Yes they know my country/location as the prices are in my currency and so shipping is not a factor
* I've confirmed with a friends account that the lower prices applied to him too
* I've included the store info so that we can see it's the same item sold by the same store
* These screenshots where taken on the same day

Genuinely asking is this common practice for this site or am I missing something?

It feels like I'm being targeted after making a large purchase but I can't unserstand how that would be a viable business model.

If this is the case and has happened to anyone else, are there any workarounds? I guess I could create a new account every couple months but that seems very annoying.

Any help or advice would be appreciated

Cheers
