A good bonus round still has to feel worth the wait

One thing that puts me off fast is when a slot clearly wants the bonus feature to be the whole point, but then the wait for it feels longer than the payoff deserves. You spend most of the session sitting through a base game that barely holds up on its own, and then when the feature lands, it does not really change enough. That’s probably where a lot of slots lose me. I do not mind a bonus being the highlight, but it still needs to feel like it belongs to a game that works before and after it too. The best ones usually get that balance right. The feature matters, but it does not have to carry everything by itself
