[M4A] [M?4A] Catfishing Gone Wrong, Gone Right

It hadn't started out maliciously. It was something to pass the time, almost an acting exercise. It was easy enough, really. I had done plenty of vocal training, and I knew how to use photomanipulation software better than most. Just...come up with a persona, come up with where they're from, what they do, and...chat. There wasn't anything more to it. I wasn't charging money, I wasn't trying to get them to buy me gifts. I even turned down more than one who offered. Honestly, it was fun. I'd come up with two or three personas at a time sometimes, and just keep the irons in the fire until I got bored or they had to break it off. That happened more than I would've expected.

But then there's you. Something about you is different from the first message, and I can tell that it's going to go places I'm not sure I can handle. At the same time...I don't know how to stop. I'm plunging down the rabbit hole with you, and the deeper we go, the more fraught the conversations become, the more entrenched and hyperfixated I become on making this particular persona feel real to you...the more she begins to take on a life of her own. What happens from there is...well, it's really up to fate, isn't it?
