How are people actually using AI video in their content workflow?

Discussion

I do social media for a small team, and honestly the hard part is usually not coming up with ideas. It’s finding enough footage. Sometimes we have a product update, a quick promo idea, or a decent hook, but nothing new to actually show on screen. Shooting fresh footage every time is not realistic for us, and reusing the same few product photos gets old really fast.

So I’ve been playing around with AI video tools mainly for that problem. Not to make the whole video, just to give me a few extra visuals to work with. The basic workflow is pretty simple: I take a clean product image or vertical visual, turn it into a short 2–4 second motion clip, then bring it into CapCut for the actual edit. I’ve tried Dreamina for this kind of image-to-video B-roll, mostly when I want a product shot to feel a little less flat without setting up a full shoot.

I still delete a lot of clips where the product shape changes, the text gets weird, or the motion feels random. But when the movement is subtle, it can work pretty well as a quick visual layer between screenshots, captions, talking-head clips, or normal product shots. The main thing I’ve learned is not to let the AI clip become the whole video. The edit still needs pacing, captions, music, voiceover, and some kind of structure. Otherwise it just feels like AI filler.

So right now I’m treating tools like Dreamina, PixVerse, Kling, etc. as a way to make short visual options faster, not as full video replacements.
