Psychiatrist recommending hormone consultation

Depression/Anxiety

TLDR: hormone therapy for mental health symptoms only, will they take me seriously?

I have seen my psychiatrist for a few years now (have been on meds for 30+ years). She is young and thinks out of the box and I really like her. I was pretty stable for the first couple years with her (and really, for about the past 10), but this last 12-18 months I've been all over the place. Unrelenting anxiety, very low depression... and since I had reading more about perimenopause (I'm 43) I began tracking the shifting of my symptoms. Sure enough, everything Bottoms out starting about 10 days before my period starts (which for the most part, is still regular)... (i also had debilitating postpartum with both of my children). my dr acknowledged my findings and is recommending an appointment with a hormone specialist-my usual obgyn said I was too young and gave me a "courtesy blood test" which of course was normal because I know I'm not in full menopause. Anyway, all this to say... have you gone to a specialist specifically to help with mental health that may be worsening with these hormone changes? My boss has a provider she loves, but he is of course cash pay and I don't want to waste all that money if he's going to shrug me off. Have you had success? I'm kind of at my wits end here.
