What should an AI companion app explain before you trust it?

One thing I keep coming back to: trust in an AI companion app should not depend on vibes.


Before someone shares anything personal, the product should explain a few plain things:


- that the companion is AI
- what memory is saved
- whether memory can be viewed, edited, or deleted
- how private chat data is used
- what happens in hard or unsafe moments
- how to leave without emotional pressure


A friendly chat screen is not enough if the controls are vague.


What else would you want an AI companion app to explain clearly before using it deeply?
