Entire account suddenly deleted

Today, for my surprise I logged in and my whole account and around 10 characters in different worlds were instantly deleted.

I'm really at a loss at what could have happened. I am a programmer and sometimes I have the game running while working, which in my mind *could* send a false positive to BattleEye.

I have a Glorious Model-O mouse and I used its software to remap healing/potion drinking to the mouse buttons, taking extra care not to bind two actions to the same button. I've heard of character/account banishments due to using unofficial software to play, such as bots or macros, but never full account deletion. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
