Samsung Q930F vs LG S95TR vs Sony HT-S60 for Movies, Music, and Gaming in a 10x16 ft Living Room

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on choosing a home theater system and have narrowed it down to the following three models:

  • Samsung HW-Q930F (9.1.4)
  • LG S95TR (9.1.5)
  • Sony HT-S60

My setup:

  • Sony 55" TV
  • Living room size: approximately 10 ft x 16 ft (160 sq ft)
  • Apartment (so I don't need excessive bass)
  • Seating distance: around 8–10 ft
  • TV is mounted on the 10 ft wall

My usage:

  • Movies: 50%
  • Music: 30%
  • Gaming: 20%

What matters most to me:

  1. Clear dialogue/voice clarity
  2. Good instrument separation and music quality
  3. Surround immersion ("sound should feel like it's coming from different directions")
  4. Controlled bass rather than overwhelming bass
  5. Long-term reliability

I am not particularly concerned about price differences between these three models. I'm more interested in which one provides the best overall experience for my room size and usage.

For those who have owned or auditioned any of these systems:

  • Which would you choose and why?
  • Is the Q930F noticeably better than the S95TR for movies?
  • Is the S95TR better for music?
  • How does the Sony HT-S60 compare in dialogue clarity and surround immersion?
  • Would any of these be overkill for a 10x16 ft apartment living room?

I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who have directly compared two or more of these systems.

Thanks in advance!
