Are common boons worth it?

Hello,

So, I've been playing Hades for about a week now and I kinda fell in love with the Moonstone Axe. I only use the axe which is already at max level and I have some builds that I like. I tend to go for Hephaestus or Zeus/Aphrodite builds but lately I use all my re-rolls whenever I get a common boon even if I need it for my build and sometimes I end up no getting it.

I'm still getting familiarized with all the mechanics, the maths and how the game works as a whole. Right now I'm trying to find a consistent way of defeating both Typhoon and Prometheus but anyways, yeah. Are common boons worth it?

Also! I've unlocked the thing that adds certain rules to make a run harder (forgot the name) and I'm wondering if I have to complete the run to gain the purple thing to upgrade Aspects. I wanna use one of the axe's aspects but I feel like since my base axe is already maxed it's not worth switching.
