I’m late diagnosed and married 30+ years. Looking for a good resource that might help my husband understand what ADHD is and how to best support me.

General Question/Discussion

I’ve always known I was different, had a rough childhood with abandonment issues, struggled my entire life to succeed and fit in. I was recently laid off from my job/career of almost 30 years and had a really hard time dealing with the sudden lack of structure in my life. I was then diagnosed ADHD by my medical doctor and started meds. I’ve never had therapy.

Can anyone suggest a good article or resource that might help my husband better understand what I’m dealing with? It’s hard for me to explain. My time blindness makes him crazy and he doesn’t get why I just can’t do things like he does. Any suggestions/resources would be appreciated.

He’s mostly supportive, but sometimes says things that make me feel worse. I feel my confidence is dwindling and I’m worried about what will happen when I try to rejoin the workforce.
