Backstory Proposal: Han's BlasTech DL-44

Fan Creations

i played Control a lot and one of the things I love in that SCP end of sci-fi is the idea of objects that speak to their owner/wearer. with that in mind:

The BlasTech's original owner was an untrained dark-side force sensitive. they got turfed from training, either because the jedi sensed their dark side potential, or because they weren't evil enough for sith induction; either way, left behind/for dead by their supposed teachers.

in need of protection, our young darksider breaks into a weapons shop and steal a brand new in box BlasTech DL-44, the galaxy's preferred way to make holes in lifeforms. the gun is immediately used on the shopkeep's family, quickly followed by local security agents. Our Darksider used the gun to get off-world and out-system, racking up a bodycount as they go.

Years of this goes on, killing for profit, revenge, fear, hatred, all the unfettered dark-side emotions of an untrained force user pouring into the weapon with every energy blast. each time it cuts someone off from the force, it takes their strength. the gun becomes more and more powerful with each kill.

the force can extend your life, if you know how to use it. if not, it can burn your candle down faster than anything. the Darksider falls, their body is looted, someone new picks up the gun. the pattern repeats. murder, death, theft, murder.

The gun lands in the hands of an otherwise unnoteworthy smuggler, Han Solo, and his first act is to shoot his mentor. a decade of quasi justified "self defense shootings", we find Han on tatooine, sitting across from Greedo, the gun's screams for blood pounding in solo's ears.

of course he shot first.
