17-year-old from Italy looking for feedback on my financial plan
Hello everyone, I'm a 17-year-old Italian guy and I'd like some feedback on my financial plan.
I recently started working at a restaurant for the summer. By the end of the season, I expect to have earned around $3,000, and, combined with the money I've already saved, I should have around $4,000 by September, when I turn 18.
My plan (starting in September):
- $2,500 invested in an S&P 500 index fund (probably Vanguard Acc) - $1,500 kept in my bank account as a savings/emergency fund - Continue working part-time during my senior year of high school, earning about $500 per month - Invest $400 per month in the S&P 500 (PAC) - Dedicate $200 per month to online business projects (+ marketing), primarily related to AI agents, automation, and tools like Claude Code, which I'm currently learning and experimenting with.
My goal is to start building wealth early, while also investing in skills and projects that could potentially generate future income.
Do you think this is a good plan for someone my age? Is there anything you'd change or any mistakes I'm missing?
Thank you so much!
