Sniper bug or what?

I have a strange glitch or bug in the game. When I use the Mini Scout, or occasionally some other sniper rifle, my shots sometimes go about 45 degrees above the target. I fire, but the shot goes several meters over the target. I have Range Finder enabled, and this has never happened before.
