Anyone ever get punished for being too good at your job?

I once finished a major report a month ahead of schedule and made sure it was high quality because I thought getting it done well and early would be appreciated. Instead, I got called into the office and told management was concerned I wasn't taking the work seriously enough because it "should have taken longer." That was the last time I went above and beyond for that company. Looking back, that was probably the moment I started mentally checking out and looking for my next job.
