Can someone explain to me the Auto SR for Xbox Ally X?

Back in April, I heard about the Auto SR feature that would supposedly work for most games. I just bought a XAX yesterday and am confused on what it does and how to get it to work. Is it fully ready yet or only limited? I feel like I haven’t been able to find much info on the status of Auto SR.
