Did I just mess this up?
So, I haven't worked a "real" job for nearly 2 years. I went out sick, didn't care if I lived or died sick, with my last job. It was hell.
Now I have 2 volunteer jobs, one is more chill, the other is in marketing for a charity. I just got called back for a sort of screening convo for the first "real" job I've applied for ever since I got sick.
The person asked why I left my previous iob and I was so nervous I couldn't make up a lie and I said I left because I was sick. I affirmed that ever since then, I've worked hard to get back to where I was (seen by my volunteer jobs) and I am ready for the next step.
Now I'm spiraling because I was honest. The rest of the convo went okay... but did I mess this up? How can I answer in the future? I've heard of reasons/lies like taking care of a sick relative, or that I went travelling, but I'm scared to be caught lying if they ask more questions.
Man this sucks
