What was the first non pre-school animated series that you watched as a kid, that's story driven (anime or cartoon), either serialised or episodic and what was the year?

Hi everyone. I'd like to know What was the first non pre-school animated series that you watched as a kid, that's story driven (anime or cartoon), either serialised or episodic and what was the year?

Mine was Martin Mystery on Toon Disney in 2005 when I was 8 years old, until then I watched old Pogo pre-school cartoons like Noddy, Oswald, Pingu etc and occasionally Tom & Jerry. Answers appreciated.
