AITAH for not wanting to always go on vacations with my in-laws?

We (partner and I) go on two “big” vacations a year- a beach area close by my family (they’ll meet up with us once or twice during a 5 day stay) and an international trip. For the past 4 years, he has started inviting his parents to both trips, and sometimes his siblings as well.

We had a baby a little over a year ago, and his mom can be very possessive of the baby and just a bossy person in general. Last year when we went on both trips, it was not super enjoyable for me because it was her constantly telling me what to do with baby and I feel like I couldn’t truly relax.

So when he brought up planning the international trip, I asked if we were ever going to do a a vacation just the three of us. He immediately got defensive and said that he pays for it all (his parents and siblings included) and it’s nice having his parents there to “help” with baby. He accused me of not liking his parents even though they help us out a lot (will help with some childcare outside of daycare hours), and I explained that I love them but we see them at least once a week and I would like a vacation without them. It ended in a pretty big fight.

So AITAH? Should I just view our vacations as a way to pay them back?
