A CEO who sold to IBM for $200M and to HPE for $650M is now running an $11M software company. Either something is broken - or something is very mispriced.

I came across Our Bond ($OBAI) recently and the setup caught my attention for one reason above everything else: the CEO.

The company currently trades around a $11 million market cap after collapsing roughly 96% from its post-IPO highs. Plenty of stocks fall that hard for good reasons, so I started digging into the business, the financials, and management. The more I read, the more interesting the story became.

For anyone unfamiliar, Our Bond provides a personal security platform that connects users with live security agents through a mobile app. The service combines AI-driven monitoring, emergency response, and human support available around the clock.

The product is being sold to corporations, universities, cities, and individual consumers. The easiest way to think about it is a digital security service that gives users immediate access to trained personnel instead of relying entirely on automated alerts.

What really stood out to me was the person running the company.

CEO Doron Kempel has built and exited businesses before. He founded Diligent Technologies, which was acquired by IBM for $200 million, and later founded SimpliVity, which Hewlett Packard Enterprise acquired for $650 million.

Most nano-cap companies don't have leadership teams with that kind of track record. That's what pushed me to spend more time looking through the filings.

The valuation is where things get interesting.

The stock trades around $0.55, giving it a market value of roughly $11 million. According to the company's Q1 2026 filing, annual recurring revenue sits near $10 million.

That means investors are paying close to 1.1x ARR.

For comparison, many software companies with recurring revenue models trade at several times ARR, even when growth isn't particularly impressive. The market is clearly assigning a very low expectation to Bond's future.

Revenue for Q1 2026 came in at approximately $2.3 million, up about 4% year over year. Growth wasn't explosive, but the company is still early in its public life after listing in February.

The loss side of the business deserves attention too. Management says a large portion of recent expenses came from becoming a public company and related operating costs. Investors will get a better sense of that argument over the next few quarters as those costs work through the financials.

Insider ownership is another reason people are paying attention.

Over the last 18 months, insiders haven't reported selling shares. Kempel controls millions of common shares, preferred shares that can convert into additional common stock, and options with strike prices close to where the stock trades today.

That matters because most of the upside for management comes from creating shareholder value rather than cashing out stock.

A few recent developments could also move the numbers.

Earlier this year, Bond announced a Phase 1 agreement with a major global pharmaceutical company. The contract represents about $250,000 in annual recurring revenue and covers a workforce that could eventually reach 100,000 employees.

The company also completed a paid pilot with a U.S. employer that has roughly one million employees. Management says a full rollout could exceed $10 million in annual revenue. If that opportunity converts into a signed contract, it would become Bond's largest deployment to date.

In March, a multinational company valued at more than $1 trillion expanded its Bond coverage to employees in Mexico.

In April, management said four international cities were preparing to launch Bond's service for residents. The company estimates those projects could contribute up to $6 million in annual recurring revenue depending on adoption rates.

That same month, Bond announced that one of the world's largest venture capital firms selected the platform, potentially creating access to more than 1,000 portfolio companies.

Looking ahead, there are several events worth monitoring.

The biggest one is the outcome of the one-million-employee pilot program. A signed agreement would have a direct impact on recurring revenue.

Q2 earnings should also provide a clearer picture of customer growth, operating expenses, and whether management's comments about temporary public-company costs hold up.

Investors will likely be watching for expansion of existing enterprise accounts as well. Large workforce deployments tend to start small before broader adoption decisions are made.

Another item on my radar is insider buying. Management has discussed the possibility of purchasing shares in the open market. If that happens, the filings will show it.

As for acquisition potential, there is no indication that a deal is being discussed today. Still, it's hard to ignore Kempel's history.

His previous companies were eventually acquired by much larger organizations. Bond operates in an area that overlaps with security services, insurance, employee benefits, and enterprise software. A larger company looking for technology, customer relationships, and an established platform could find value there.

Of course, there are risks.

Cash burn remains a concern, and the stock market hasn't rewarded recent announcements. Investors should also remember that small-cap companies can be extremely volatile, especially when liquidity is limited.

What keeps me interested is the combination of recurring revenue, a tiny valuation, several potential growth catalysts, and a founder who has already built and sold successful companies before.

At an $11 million market cap, the market is pricing in very little optimism. Whether that turns into an opportunity or a value trap is what the next few quarters will reveal.
