This market feels like it’s one economic report away from either ripping or dumping

Trade Idea

Feels like the whole market is trading around the economic calendar right now.

This week has a lot of labor-market data, including JOLTS, ADP, jobless claims and the May jobs report. Then next week the big inflation prints come in with CPI on June 10 and PPI on June 11. The Nasdaq calendar page itself is basically just an economic-calendar hub powered by Investing.com, but the actual market focus is clearly on jobs, inflation and the Fed path.

That makes this market weird because every outcome somehow has a bullish and bearish version.

Strong jobs? Bullish because economy strong, bearish because Fed stays tight.
Weak jobs? Bullish because cuts, bearish because recession.
Hot CPI? Bearish because rates.
Cool CPI? Bullish because rate-cut hopes.
Mixed data? Market probably just lets NVDA decide anyway.

I’m trying to figure out if it even makes sense to take big positions before these reports, or if the smarter move is to wait for the reaction and trade the direction after.

What are people doing into the next few macro prints?

Buying dips?
Reducing risk?
Holding through it?
Trading only after the data hits?
Or ignoring macro completely and just sticking with individual setups?
