Getting back into cricket after years – a simple kit made it easier
A few months ago, some friends started organizing weekend cricket matches again. The problem was that I hadn't played regularly since college and didn't have any equipment left.
Instead of spending a lot on individual gear, I picked up a cricket kit from Lifelong that included the basics I needed to get started. My main goal wasn't competitive cricket; I just wanted something decent for casual matches and practice sessions.
What I liked was that I didn't have to spend time figuring out which bat, ball, or accessories to buy separately. Everything was available in one place, which made things easier as someone getting back into the sport.
After a few weekends, I realized the biggest benefit wasn't the equipment itself—it was having fewer excuses to skip playing. The bat felt comfortable for casual games, and the overall setup was good enough for practice and friendly matches.
If you're someone who's returning to cricket after a long break or just starting out, a basic cricket kit can be a practical way to get going without overthinking the gear.
