Fix these jeans?
My wonderful wife bought me these jeans for my birthday, and based on the measurements given on the website, they SHOULD fit me...but alas, they do not. They're tight but manageable around my upper thighs, but don't button--my booty is too strong, apparently. (They're also listed as high-waisted, and these are definitely not.)
There isn't a side seam, which is where I'd think to put in a triangle of fabric to make them a little bigger. Rather, that curved seam around the front goes into the pockets, and the sides are one piece of fabric. I'd use the seams in the back where the pockets are, but the back is elastic, and I'm always hesitant to cut that.
Any suggestions on how I could make them a bit bigger? And any suggestions on fabric choice for the inserts? With the death of Joanns, I'm likely stuck ordering fabric online. Thanks for any advice!
