Is my 2023 Merida One-Twenty enough for bike parks and flow trails?

WhichBike

Hi everyone,

I currently ride a 2023 Merida One-Twenty. I’ve upgraded the front fork to a Fox 34 Rhythm with 140 mm of travel, and I’m running a RockShox Deluxe DebonAir rear shock (185x55 mm, 120 mm rear travel).

I’d like to start riding bike parks, singletracks, and flow trails more often, and gradually learn this style of riding. My question is: do you think this bike is capable enough for a beginner in bike parks and trail riding, or would it be better to upgrade to something more downhill-oriented with more suspension travel?

I’m not planning on doing huge jumps or extreme downhill runs right away—mostly flow trails, blue and red trails, and improving my skills over time. My goal is to have fun, build confidence, and progress gradually.

I’d love to hear from anyone with experience riding a similar setup or who has started bike park riding on a trail bike.

Thanks!
