Attire advice
I think I may know the answer to this but just looking for some, reassurance? Maybe not the correct word but anyways.
I have a jail tour followed by my physical ability test on Friday for my local sheriffs office. The email sent out says “the dress attire is casual dress with a collared shirt (either pull over or button up) and a good pair of jeans.” Then ofc it follows up saying to bring a change of clothes for my physical test.
I was planning on over dressing since I know how important first impressions are in LE (although it isn’t really a “police gig”) and wearing a jacket and button down shirt and tie. Since I’ve gotten the email this morning I think I’m just over thinking and still should stick to it (wearing the jacket and tie etc.)
What do you guys think? Dress slightly down? Or stick to my guns and wear what I had planned originally with a suit.
Thanks in advance to everyone who replies! I know the answer is probably obvious but I’m young and just kind of nervous since this is my first step towards my law enforcement career.
