Boy attitude is a fresh level of hell

Vent. 9 year old boys, I think, are the worst of the worst. This kid ONLY speaks sarcasm. Everything he says to me sounds as if he’s implying I’m stupid. He says he loves me sometimes and is capable of being sweet. The rest of the time, I’m “bro” and his tone is can only be described as mocking. I’m over the heavy sighs and the eye rolls, even when I’m just asking him what kind of burger he wants me to order him - I wouldn’t dare to tell him to do anything.

In our house, I do not have permission to “parent,” which is generally fine with me. What is boiling my blood is the disrespect. Constantly. Even when it’s just an everyday conversation. I could say “ooh, the sun is out this morning,” and his response is, “bro, it’s daytime.” Funny once. After a year of it I am fried. HELP!!!!
