Hysterectomy at 22

Hello all! This forum has helped me so much in the last few months and I’ve finally worked up the courage to post my own experiences 😅 I’m 22 and have really bad endometriosis. The endo was covering my ovaries and tubes and obviously causing severe pain that even morphine wouldn’t touch. I am not going to have children and with my other disabilities, pregnancy for me would be high risk and absolutely miserable. My doctor agreed to do a complete hysterectomy which occurred a week and a half ago.

I am experiencing a lot of concern, condescending tones, and disrespect regarding my decision to have this procedure done. Of course I know that I’m 22. Of course I know I will never be able to have children. And of course I know that this is permanent. Still I’m being treated like this is completely elective and unnecessary, especially since my ovaries are removed and am on HRT. My ovaries were the primary location of my endo and were becoming damaged due to this. This decision didn’t come lightly and I live in a conservative southern state where this procedure is hard to come by unless in emergencies (my doc is awesome).

How do yall deal with constant pushback from people undermining this decision? Even with politely explaining the reasons which are completely reasonable medically, people still look at me like I’ve sprouted a horn and gone cross eyed. Honestly tired of discussing it and probably won’t be but I wanted to hear yalls thoughts! Love you all!

Also did yalls vaginal cuff burn?? Mines on fire I hate it
