How much should it cost to remove popcorn ceiling, sand, level, and paint?

I think these companies just dont want to do the work (which i get honestly)

But quoting me 7k to do this feels insane.

It's a 2100sqft house with no furniture in it. Won't even have ceiling fans up when they do it.

I might have to pony up and do it myself
